So today I worked for hours, and hours on a cover letter. I had no idea how to write one, as I've never done one before, or maybe I have, and I just forgot. I looked at it, and it was complete crap. I talked to karrlii about it, and she helped me out a lot with much inspiration. I worked on it for hours more, and it is much better, but still not done. I find it amusing that the skills required to apply for a job can be very different than the skills to do the job. Thus someone with great ability to sell oneself could possibly beat out someone with better skills for the job. I'm not going to let that happen though. I'm going to figure out how to play this game, and get this job that I know I can do really well.
A little bit ago I setup the donation page for my open source project to auto update once an hour, and mailed back the guy who wanted a sponsors page before he would consider donating. So hopefully I will get a few buck for the huge amount of effort that went into that. More importantly though it is recognition of the value of it.
