Mom has been home from the hospital for a while now. When she came home they put her on hospice. People don't go on hospice unless they are expected to die in under 6 months. She has kept getting better every day though. The extra care the hospice people have given her has really helped a lot. Last weekend there was a fundraiser in Forest Grove for her. It was weird seeing a sign advertising her fundraiser when I drove into town. She hasn't been able to go to work for so long that she ran out of all sick leave, and they weren't paying her at all. Her friends wanted to help, and they can't really fight her illnesses for her so they thought maybe they can help with medical bills. There must have been 200 people there cheering when we got there. They put a crown, and cape, on both my mom, and my dad. They were the king, and the queen. There was lots of good food. A live band. Belly dancers. A person in a gorilla suit in a bikini. A clown. A person making balloon animals. A full bar. It was a good party.
Oh so anyways. The doctor called today, and my sister, and grandparents happened to be in the room which is unusual. Mom said WOOHOO! Some number having to do with cancer was down by about 2/3. And this was from a test less than two weeks after getting this new drug. The doctor said that she has to go off of hospice now, and give back all the stuff they brought.
