worried
Currently hurricane Rita is the 3rd largest Atlantic hurricane on record. EVER! My girlfriend was evacuated from her college apartment earlier today, but she just went to her mom's house. Far enough from the bay to not be a risk to storm surge I guess, but not nearly far enough away to avoid the wind, and possible tornadoes. Actually she got herself in a worse position in that regard. The latest storm track I have seen [1] seems to put the path of the eye in a direct line over where my girlfriend is staying with her mom on the west side of Houston. Please help me convince
snarble to leave town. Her mom doesn't seem to be worried at all, and says gas costs too much. My girlfriend doesn't have her own money to spend on gas, or a place to stay either. Hotels are even setting all prices to max to take advantage of the situation. She doesn't want to leave any of her family behind. I don't know what to do. I don't think I have ever been worried like this.

Apparently it's impossible to get out of Houston right now, though (Brian has been in traffic for fifteen hours and isn't out), so my parents don't have much of a choice but to go ride out the storm at my aunt's house, which is on the western edge of Houston.
