Crap. I found a new way of wasting time, well really sort of an old way. I discovered that DOS emulators for Linux work pretty well, and I spent a bunch of time playing old video games. I mean a lot of these games won't run on modern machines natively anymore because XP doesn't really support dos effectively any more, and most of those old games accessed hardware directly that machines no longer have. It seems kind of silly to have to emulate even the bugs, and other bad things in old hardware just to make old programs continue to work. Especially since after the overhead of emulation they can actually run slower than they did on a 486. I am going to resist the urge to find old games to play.
