I have booked my flight to Houston! I am going to finally meet Catherine aka snarble. So very excited am I. Since I got two way video chat working I found out how cute she really is!

I have managed many upgrades to my computer. I now run the bleeding edge Linux version Debian Experimental/Unstable. New 17" flat panel 1280x1024 @ 80.1 hertz refresh, and a new hard drive too that my dad got me for xmas. <3 my dad. I somewhat figured out printing in Linux. I can print to every printer in the house. Attached to my computer, attached to the router, over windows networking etc, but none of them prints quite right. I print driving directions, and they are missing the address, I print a picture, and the colors are wrong. It is frustrating, but not enough that I have taken the time to figure them out yet. There is always so much to learn. At least I can turn a print job into a pdf, and print it out from somewhere else. Oh, I got sound working really well. My DVD's have Dolby Digital surround sound now.

I have spent so much time learning how to make things work that I haven't done a whole lot of fun stuff. I started working of the flow chart for a program I want to write. Neat 3d stuff. Well actually pretty basic to start with, but stuff I haven't done before. It will get me back to some of the reasons I started working with Linux in the first place. Hopefully I will get around to finally removing my M$ install. I don't think it has been bootable for months. I have copied all of my files off of it already. Not much I could do in M$ windows that I can't do in Linux better, or at least almost as well.

I guess that was too nerdy for most people.

My mom is feeling better. They found out she has cancer. Her hair is starting to fall out because of the Chemo. They think it is working already. The symptoms that originally caused her to go to the hospital are going away. People show up regularly to say hi. A lot of the time they bring food, and that is oh so nice. I have to do a lot more work around the house. It's alright. I love my mom. I want her to get better, so I help when I can.

You may be right. I may be crazy, but it just might be a lunatic she is looking for.
